The glacial tongue of Longyearbyen Glacier peeks through the window frame of a decaying snow dome.
Longyearbyen Glacier is a small valley glacier 4.8km long, 520 metres wide, a cold based glacier, frozen throughout its entire body. Old trim lines suggest it was 20-30 metres thicker in some places around 1920.
This work focuses on the phenomena of erosion and decay.
