Transition is a series of ‘disappearing drawings’.
Under the heat and light of the sun, ice melts to water on the surface of the etching plate, a solid material disintegrates into absence, recording erosion and loss, leaving a residual trace of the process of melting.
Nature reveals its invisible process. After a prolonged exposure, water destroys the surface and eats away the etching plate, creating scratches, cracks and gorges. These records of the transformative process of melting on a micro scale, echo the larger globe where ice melts at the poles at a faster rate than than the rest of the planet.
